Hi I haven't been posting much lately. I guess I have been more in a "learning" phase than a "yakking" phase.
I just began an internship at Drive Fitness in Richmond. This is a great facility and anyone out Richmond (B.C.) way is encouraged to check ot out. Basically philosophy s t provide athletic style training for, well, everyone (athletes, general population, old and young alike). This is also a place where one can go and do some strongman, learn the Olympic lifts or generally get really strong and powerful. A good crew of trainers. Isaac, the co-owner who has taken me under his wing looks like a complete tough dude and has a really warm personality to go along with it.
Summer training has been going well. Jamie has made the UBC football team. Vanessa is getting stronger still. Yvette's roller derby season is in full swing (sadly she is so busy I don't get to see much of her). A bunch of people have been enjoying (and suffering through) more summer-style outdoor training with sandbags, kettlebells and nasty intervals that I dream up or borrow from other coaches. Everyone that I didn't mention by name is holding their own and either loves or hates Turkish get-ups.
