Al Heinemann - Coach Bio.

I have been coaching the barbell lifts and physical preparation since about 2007. I came to be interested in strength coaching through my background in martial arts, competitive distance running & coaching, and outdoor/mountain pursuits.
I developed from being a running coach into coaching outdoors with bodyweight, sandbag, sled-dragging and kettlebell-style exercises. In 2008 I began coaching the barbell lifts at Spartacus Athletic Club in East Vancouver. I have specialized in this area of physical preparation since then. In January of 2011 I was fortunate enough to open my own private barbell club and have been able to develop group strength training along with continuing the private instruction. The Club has also provided a great opportunity for training in olympic weightlifting.
